it’s time to reevaluate your marketing strategy

Creative Marketing

Our way of life has changed drastically in the past month due to the coronavirus. Consumers’ needs are still present, but they are being fulfilled using different methods—mainly turning to online sources. Because of this, it’s likely that your current messaging may be falling behind in generating the results you desire. If you haven’t already done so, a shift in your marketing strategy is imperative to meet the needs of your customers by really focusing on your online approach and the image you want to convey.

Making a careful revision to your current messaging will show that you are up to date on events, staying informed, and most importantly, taking action to better serve clients. In doing this, you will build legitimacy and signify your loyalty at a time when purchasing habits may be most sensitive or rapidly changing altogether. Here are a few ideas to help get you started and implement a plan of action that will work best for your brand now and help continue to market your company once things get back to normal:

Promote and educate using social media

Now, more than ever, people are using social media as news aggregates, getting updates not only on family and friends, but for the latest news and information. Contribute to these huge online communities by educating and promoting your services. Or, you can even take a different approach by sharing something fun that takes minds off of our current state of affairs. Clicking on posts can bring them to your website (or landing page) so they can dig deeper. Just don’t overdo it. You don’t want to annoy followers who will potentially unfollow.

Communicate through emailers

One of the great things about emailers is that they’re flexible. You can share a single message or take a newsletter approach by sharing several stories/services/products at one go. It’s probably taken years for your mailing list to grow to its state now (If you haven’t started, it’s never too late!), so nurture it as the important asset that it is. Make sure your messages are relevant and your customers hear from you at least once per quarter.

Share or create videos

Videos can be an invaluable medium to gain and retain interest. On social media, videos have been proven to be more engaging than static images. They’re also usually a popular resource on company websites. What kinds of videos could you produce? You can share company intros, product animations, customer case studies, even simple animations to promote something… the paths are limitless.

Update your website

Making updates to your website is a given, but when you are so busy doing a million other things, it is quite often pushed aside. (We’re guilty of this too!) We get it. It can be daunting, but changing things up—even as simple as updating the homepage banner—is extremely helpful. Plus, you do not want visitors reading outdated information. Stay  relevant, up to date, and look good while doing so to keep your visitors coming back.
